    Interests

    Apart from being a SRE, I enjoy most of my time being outdoors. In the winter, I am an avid skier and novice ice climber. During the warmer months here in San Diego, I enjoy mountain biking, free climbing, and kayaking.

    When forced indoors, I watch a number of sci-fi and fantasy movies and television shows with my family, and I spend a large amount of my free time exploring the latest technological advancements in Cloud environment, new applications, and automatization of routine tasks. I am also an enthusiastic participant in a local softball league and enjoy both softball and baseball. Known for being a good hitter, I take pride in my batting skills and my contribution to team success.

    Bastion AWS for Omega

    This is IaC Terrafrom for the Bastion AWS and configuration of ASG with EIP assigning. The system has set up an auto-scaling group. If the Bastion host will be terminated or stopped, after 1 min ASG starts the Bastion again with the same elastic IP automatically. Because the Infrastructure has a high level of availability, and every region has at least two AZ, deploying uses two subnets (by default) into 2 AZ each. This project uses Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) to deploy a highly available Bastion host in AWS, configured with an Auto Scaling Group (ASG) and Elastic IP (EIP) assignment.

    Provisioning ECS, VPC, and ALB using Terraform for Nelcosoft

    This example assumes you already have an AWS account and Terraform CLI installed on your Linux or Windows system. Users can deploy their own application or website using this infrastructure. The variable.tf file allows changing the image name used by AWS Elastic Container Registry (ECR).

    The infrastructure consists of:

    1. 1 Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) with CIDR block 10.0.0.0/16
    2. 1 Application Load Balancer (ALB)
    3. 1 Internet Gateway connected to the ALB
    4. 2 distributed public subnets: 10.0.0.0/24 and 10.0.1.0/24
    5. 2 EC2 instances assigned to the ECS Cluster with SSH access
    6. Task definitions for containerized applications
    7. An Auto Scaling Group that manages the availability of EC2 instances
    8. Subnets distributed across two Availability Zones (AZs)
